MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In a shocking event that has left the Milwaukee community reeling, two local men have been charged with first-degree intentional homicide following a fatal shooting incident that occurred Sunday, December 21. The criminal complaint, filed on Friday, December 26, details a chilling account of the events that unfolded in an apartment at 97th and Beatrice, where a 24-year-old victim was shot and killed in what appears to be a premeditated act of violence.
According to the complaint, the victim's girlfriend was awakened in the early hours of the morning by the presence of two masked men armed with guns. She recognized one of the assailants as 20-year-old Eduin George—a man with whom they had previously lived. The other assailant, 21-year-old Jose Talavera-Quezada, instructed her to evacuate the apartment with the children, escalating the tension as the masked men dragged the victim from his bed and into the hallway.
In a harrowing moment before his death, the victim reportedly pleaded with George, asking, "Are you going to kill me?" The girlfriend recounted how, without warning, both masked men aimed their firearms and opened fire simultaneously, resulting in the victim's immediate death. The Milwaukee police were responsive and arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, only to find that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
Following the shooting, police initiated a traffic stop on December 22, which led to the arrest of George and Talavera-Quezada. Law enforcement discovered a 9mm firearm concealed under the driver's seat of the vehicle they were in.
