ZRIntel Insight Panel

The people behind the perspective.

The ZRIntel Insight Panel is made up of contributing voices whose work reflects different layers of the firearms performance ecosystem. Instruction, equipment, measurement, and operational experience are not separate conversations. They shape the same outcome from different angles.

These are not the only voices on ZRIntel. They represent a working core. New perspectives are always welcome, especially from those operating on the line, at the bench, or inside the system.

Seth G. Cohen, Editor-in-Chief

Equipment & Armory

Seth is an attorney, firearms instructor, and founder of Adaptive Gunsmithing. His work sits at the intersection of legal perspective, mechanical problem-solving, and shooter development, connecting equipment condition, setup, and failure patterns to what actually happens on the firing line.

Kyle Barrington

Instruction & Training

Senior instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, former senior instructor at SIG Sauer Academy, a retired Green Beret, Kyle is also the author of multiple books on everyday carry and professional firearms training. His work focuses on building sustainable skill through structured progression, bridging the gap between range performance and real-world application.

Steve Burris

Qualification & Accountability

Drawing on 25 years in federal law enforcement, including roles as a Secret Service Regional Training Program Manager and Academy instructor, Steve examines the gap between what qualification documents and what operational readiness actually requires. His work challenges agencies to move beyond pass/fail records toward evidence of current performance.

Dale Comstock

Special Operations

A former Delta Force operator, Dale brings direct experience from high-stakes operational environments. His perspective emphasizes mindset, adaptability, and performance beyond static marksmanship.

Mike Magowan

Range Operations

As both a range executive and instructor, Mike brings direct exposure to large volumes of shooters. His perspective reflects what actually happens during qualifications, including recurring patterns, inconsistencies, and real-world constraints.

Herfel Torres

Human Performance

With decades of experience training military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters, Herfel focuses on how stress, perception, and decision-making affect performance. His work translates field observation into clear, structured insight.
