2026 'All Army' Small Arms Championships to Feature New Multi-Gun and Long-Range Segments
Premier Marksmanship Event Focuses on Lethality from 5 to 500 Meters
📅
✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Fort Moore, GeorgiaThe U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) has announced the registration for the 2026 U.S. Army Small Arms Championships, popularly known as 'All Army.' Scheduled for March 8-14 at Fort Moore, this year’s competition is being positioned as more than just a trophy match; it is a primary training event for increasing lethality across the force. The 2026 courses of fire have been updated to include significant multi-gun segments, requiring soldiers to transition rapidly between rifles and pistols while navigating physical obstacles.
Participants will fire over 550 rounds across 11 courses of fire, with targets ranging from 5-meter close-quarters engagements to 500-meter precision shots. A major addition for 2026 is the 'Excellence in Competition' (EIC) matches, which allow soldiers to earn points toward the prestigious Distinguished Marksmanship Badges. The USAMU will provide all ammunition and lead 'Small Arms Firing Schools' during the first two days to ensure that even novice shooters from non-combat MOS roles can benefit from the world-class instruction.
'All Army' is the ultimate 'train the trainer' event. When a corporal from a logistics unit goes back to his company with a Distinguished Badge and USAMU-level tips, the marksmanship level of that entire unit rises. The shift toward more multi-gun and obstacle-based courses shows that the Army is finally embracing the 'tactical athlete' mindset—it’s not enough to be a good shot; you have to be a good shot while your heart rate is 150 BPM.
