Aim Small Firearms Instruction ( is a full-service firearms training academy located in Mohegan Lake, New York. Founded by retired Sergeant Paul J. Conforti, the academy offers a wide range of courses designed to meet the needs of civilians, law enforcement officers, and security personnel. With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, including nearly 21 years with the City of White Plains Police Department, Sgt. Conforti brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his training programs. He has served as a firearms instructor since 1993 and has been involved in developing the department's firearms program, which remains in use today. His commitment to training extends beyond his department, as he continues to train active-duty police officers and court security officers in federal courts. The academy's offerings include courses such as the NYS 18-hour Concealed Carry Safety Course, NRA Basic Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun courses, Defensive/Tactical Civilian Carbine/Shotgun Training, and the Tactical Pistol Club. The Tactical Pistol Club is a monthly handgun training session that simulates law enforcement in-service training, focusing on fundamental shooting drills and self-defense gun-fighting skills. Each session progresses from static to dynamic drills, ensuring that students develop the necessary skills to handle real-world situations. The academy also offers firearm rentals and ammunition for classes, providing a comprehensive training experience.
