This highly anticipated clinic, led by Project Appleseed State Coordinator Robert Wadley, is designed for individuals of all skill levels to enhance their rifle marksmanship abilities while also learning about the historical significance of American rifle traditions. The event is notably family-friendly, though participants must meet safety standards and follow instructions closely to ensure a successful and safe experience. During the two-day clinic, attendees will receive expert instruction on rifle marksmanship fundamentals, as well as training on how to shoot accurately at distances of up to 400 yards using a standard rifle and surplus ammunition. Although much of the practical instruction takes place at 25 yards, reduced-size targets will simulate distances ranging from 100 to 400 yards, providing a valuable opportunity for participants to practice at various ranges. Students will learn essential rifle shooting positions, including standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone, and will also be instructed on critical shooting techniques such as sight alignment, breath control, and the proper use of a slingkey skills for any proficient rifleman. Project Appleseed is a fast-growing, non-profit educational community dedicated to promoting civic responsibility through rifle marksmanship and an appreciation of American history. As part of this unique clinic, participants will also explore Revolutionary War history, connecting with the traditions of American riflemen who played a pivotal role in the nations founding. The historical aspect of the clinic enriches the marksmanship training by encouraging students to understand the deeper cultural and historical context of their skills. Through this approach, Project Appleseed aims to foster a sense of pride in rifle traditions while encouraging responsible firearm use and community engagement. The cost for this two-day clinic is $85 for adults and $40 for youths under the age of 18, with special discounts available for law enforcement officers, active and reserve military members, and veterans. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on the first day of the event, and the clinic itself will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event will be held at the Rifle Range Road range complex, and participants can look forward to seeing a Vietnam-era Armored Personnel Carrier on display just inside the gate, adding a unique historical touch to the event. In addition to the hands-on training, the clinic is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share an interest in rifle marksmanship and American heritage. The emphasis on practical learning, combined with the educational aspect of American history, makes this clinic a standout event for those looking to deepen their shooting skills while learning about the importance of firearms in American culture.
