Police say a 32-year-old woman was being attacked by an ex-boyfriend when a nearby shopper witnessed the struggle and intervened. The armed bystander drew his pistol and ordered the attacker to stop. According to investigators, the suspect initially ignored the commands and continued striking the victim. The bystander then moved to a safe angle, maintaining distance while keeping his weapon ready, which prompted the assailant to disengage. Officers arrived minutes later and took the suspect into custody without shots fired. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Authorities say the suspect will face multiple charges, including aggravated assault and violation of a restraining order. Phoenix PD praised the armed citizen for quick thinking and restraint.
