✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Detroit, MIDETROIT, Mich. Detroit police are investigating an attempted carjacking that ended when the intended victim shot the armed suspect. The incident occurred Sunday evening at a gas station near Gratiot Avenue. Investigators say the suspect approached the drivers side of a parked sedan, displayed a handgun, and ordered the motorist to get out. The driver, who has a valid concealed pistol license, drew his firearm and fired multiple rounds, hitting the suspect at least once. The wounded suspect fled on foot but collapsed nearby and was later taken to a hospital in serious condition. Detectives recovered the suspects firearm and confirmed he has an extensive criminal history, including prior robbery charges. No injuries were reported to the driver, who is cooperating with police. The Wayne County Prosecutors Office will review the case, but authorities say early evidence indicates the shooting was a lawful act of self-defense.
