On Sunday morning, Coweta County deputies responded to reports of a man running through a residential neighborhood with a rifle. The incident occurred on Sandstone Drive, a typically quiet area, causing residents to express their concerns over recent disturbances. Upon arrival, deputies found the suspect was impaired, leading to his detainment. Following this, law enforcement searched the home and discovered an additional impaired individual, along with multiple firearms, drugs, and alcohol.
The situation escalated when the second individual suggested the presence of deceased persons within the residence, prompting deputies to conduct a thorough search. Although no bodies were found, the investigation revealed multiple bullet holes, with concerns raised regarding their trajectory towards neighboring homes, which included proximity to East Coweta High School.
Residents expressed their alarm over the frequency of gunfire emanating from the property, as concerns about safety and community stability grew. One resident described how the atmosphere has shifted since certain tenants moved in, noting increasing issues with noise and unsavory behavior. The local authorities are continuing their investigation, working to ascertain the charges against the detained individuals.
