✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Boise, IDBOISE, Idaho Boise police say a burglary attempt was stopped in its tracks when a homeowner confronted a suspect in his backyard Sunday night. The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. in a quiet residential neighborhood. According to police, the resident heard noises outside and went to investigate, finding a man attempting to force open a rear window. The homeowner, armed with a legally owned handgun, ordered the suspect to the ground. When the suspect ignored commands and reached toward his waistband, the homeowner fired a warning shot into the ground. The suspect immediately surrendered and remained prone until officers arrived. No injuries were reported, and police later found burglary tools on the suspect, who now faces multiple felony charges. Authorities said the homeowners actions, while effective, carried inherent risks warning shots can endanger bystanders and may have legal consequences depending on jurisdiction.
