Local law enforcement agencies have announced the arrival of an armored rescue vehicle to be used during active shooter situations, hostage negotiations, and high-risk warrant services. The vehicle, a Lenco Armored BearCat Rescue Vehicle, will also be deployed for disaster response and search and rescue missions. The acquisition was funded through a joint agreement between College Station, Bryan, and Texas A&M police, and will significantly enhance officer protection in high-risk situations.
