A Somerset County man, Christopher Fisher, 41, faces serious legal repercussions after a police standoff resulted in multiple charges, including four felony counts of attempted murder. The incident took place on April 16, when police attempted to execute a felony warrant against Fisher at his trailer. Officers from the Pennsylvania State Police and U.S. Marshals Service were aware that Fisher was possibly armed as they approached his residence. After attempting to draw him out using a PA system, three U.S. Marshals and three troopers were positioned in a Ford F-150 nearby.
Upon their arrival at the trailer's front door, officers reported hearing a loud bang, which they associated with gunfire coming from Fisher. Moments later, he allegedly discharged three shots in their direction. Two rounds impacted the police vehicle, and one additional round has yet to be located. Following the shooting, Fisher called 911, expressing concerns for the safety of his dog and others around his home. Eventually, he surrendered without further incident.
The authorities conducted a search of Fisher's trailer and recovered a Smith and Wesson revolver among other evidence. Fisher's charges encompass multiple counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm prohibited, and criminal attempt to murder. Given the severity of the charges and potential risks involved, bail has been denied to ensure community safety.
