On April 23, 2026, a man named Jayden Kenly Pine was charged with felony theft and illegal firearm possession after allegedly stealing a Glock 43X from an individual that was providing him shelter during his probation period in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Pine, who had previously been involved in a plan with Franklin County Adult Probation due to prior offenses, was said to have stolen the firearm while living in the victim's residence, which also housed his pregnant fiancé. The firearm was secured in a safe that required a numeric code for entry.
Pennsylvania State Police recovered the stolen gun on January 8, and Pine became a suspect in the investigation almost immediately. His interview with police revealed that he was under the influence of Xanax at the time of the theft, and while he didn’t deny stealing the firearm, his demeanor suggested he was not entirely truthful about the incident.
Furthermore, an informant indicated that Pine had sold the stolen Glock to another individual in Harrisburg for $600. During this transaction, Pine reportedly misled the buyer about the origin of the firearm, stating it belonged to someone in his family. This incident not only raises questions about Pine’s actions while on probation but also the practicality of firearm security measures in shared living situations, especially among individuals on probation.
