✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Cairo, EgyptCAIRO, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- China secured impressive victories in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the 2025 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship Rifle/Pistol on Sunday, demonstrating their dominance in the sport. The team of Wang Zifei and Sheng Lihao triumphed over their compatriots Peng Xinlu and Wang Honghao in a notable all-Chinese final, clinching gold with a decisive score of 17-3. With this win, China has now achieved a remarkable fourth consecutive world title in this particular event. Sheng retained the title he first won two years ago in Baku, while Wang claimed her first senior world crown just a day after earning a silver medal in the womens individual event. The achievement underscores a formidable presence of Chinese shooters at the global stage. Sheng, the Olympic champion, expressed satisfaction after the match, reflecting on his journey, stating, "The venue feels familiar; the main difference is my mindset. I'm more mature and steady now. Whether there's pressure or not, it's almost the same for me because I'm mentally more determined." In analyzing his growth since the 2022 Cairo World Championships, Sheng remarked that he initially struggled with confidence and technique. However, thanks to strategic preparation and clear goal setting, he executed an impressive performance this time around. He emphasized the importance of composure and determination in executing techniques, factors that he attributes to his success alongside teammates. He rated his overall performance as 50 points out of 100 and highlighted that his focus moving forward would be on refining his technique rather than merely accumulating medals. This mentality signifies a shift towards a more calculated and disciplined approach to competing, rather than solely chasing glory. The bronze medal match saw Turkey's duo, Damla Kose and Mert Nalbant, winning against Italy's Carlotta Salafia and Danilo Sollazzo with a score of 16-10, marking their first world championship medals. This part of the competition showcases not only the rising talent from Turkey but also the increasing competitiveness of the international shooting scene. In other events from the championship, France's Clement Bessaguet excelled in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol, finishing with 31 hits. He surpassed Indian shooter Anish Bhanwala, who scored 28, and Ukraine's Maksym Horodynets, who finished with 25. Such performances are indicative of the high level of competition present in this championship, with many shooters demonstrating their exceptional skills and strategies. The finals for the men's and women's 10m air pistol are scheduled for Monday, and anticipation is high as all eyes remain on the competitors. The stakes are particularly significant as nations vie for top spots, which can impact their standings for future international competitions. As the world of competitive shooting evolves, the ISSF World Championship serves as a pivotal moment for both established shooters and emerging talent, as they all strive to elevate their game in pursuit of excellence. The accomplishments of the Chinese team reflect not only individual skill but also the systematic training and support from national programs, setting a benchmark for other countries to aspire to.
