At the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), two young Emirati designers showcased a firearm that blends family legacy with modern engineering. Alfandi Al Mazrouei, 21, and Mohamed Al Ali, 30, introduced the MP3 PRINZ rifle, created in partnership with German manufacturer Prinz. Both men grew up in families that helped establish MP3 International, one of the UAEs leading arms trading companies. Drawing on that heritage, they collaborated with European engineers to design a rifle that balances civilian, hunting, and law enforcement applications. The MP3 PRINZ is chambered in both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, giving it dual-purpose capability for civilian use and military-standard performance. According to the designers, this versatility makes it suitable for hunting, sport shooting, or service by police and armed forces. Initial testing took place in snowy conditions in northern Germany, where the rifle was fired more than 2,000 times at ranges between 300 and 500 meters. The performance reportedly exceeded expectations, reinforcing its potential as both a practical and adaptable firearm. The rifle integrates internationally sourced components. The backstock and grip were provided by Magpul, a U.S.-based company well known for its work with military contracts. A gas system was added to enhance accuracy, while barrel configurations and finishes were developed in coordination with Prinz. Al Ali noted that the design reflects the preferences of a new generation of shooters, blending futuristic military aesthetics with traditional appeal for hunters. The rifle also includes an M-LOK system, allowing users to customize it with accessories such as bipods, flashlights, and lasers. Production is limited in the early stages. Only 35 rifles have been manufactured, priced at 18,500 dirhams each. Despite the small initial run, demand has been strong, with hundreds of pre-orders already placed, including interest from royal offices. Under UAE regulations, rifles configured with military stocks must be purchased through official channels such as the police or armed forces. Still, the ability to showcase a homegrown design has been described as a point of national pride by the designers. Both Al Mazrouei and Al Ali have academic backgrounds in business management, but their passion for firearms ultimately guided their career paths. They credited their fathers and grandfathers with paving the way, noting that earlier generations had to overcome significant challenges in building the business. The younger generation, by contrast, has been able to focus more on refining designs and incorporating modern innovations. Collaboration with other UAE-based firearm companies such as Caracal, Rakna, and Akila has also been part of their development process. In addition to the MP3 PRINZ, MP3 International unveiled a limited-edition Barguera rifle featuring the Manchester City football club logo. Built from carbon fiber, including the grip, the .308 caliber rifle combines light weight with long-range precision. Like the PRINZ, it supports the M-LOK accessory system, offering users a high degree of customization. MP3 representatives described it as both a functional sniper platform and a collectors piece, comparing its design and materials to high-performance racing bicycles. The unique branding and modern construction were positioned as appealing to enthusiasts who value exclusivity as much as performance.
