Among these, the 2020 Heatseeker stands out, particularly for serious competition shooters. Its incredibly light weight and strong, rigid construction, derived from a meticulously designed chassis, allows for enhanced maneuverability without sacrificing stability. The carbon fiber-wrapped barrel not only looks fantastic but is also thoughtfully designed with threading for suppressor attachment, indicating Springfield's attention to modern shooting demands. A standout component is the B5 Systems stock, which is easily adjustable. This flexibility allows shooters of varying body types to customize the rifle's length of pull and cheek piece heights, essential for achieving an optimal shooting position and enhancing accuracy. The thoughtful adjustment mechanism, operated by simple wheel rotations, means that multiple shooters can quickly adapt the rifle to their individual needs during a match, promoting versatile usage in competition scenarios. Another highlight is the rifle's bolt and trigger system. The single-stage curved trigger can be adjusted between 2.5 to 5 pounds, providing a personalized feel for each shooter's preference and aiding in shot precision. I appreciated the tactile feedback when adjusting the trigger weight the positive clicks ensure that shooters can return to a desired weight setting easily. However, loading the detachable five-round steel magazine can be quite challenging; the high-tension follower spring can be intimidating for the average shooter, reflecting a trade-off between reliability and usability.
