WICHITA, Kan. A 22-year-old man is dead following an early morning shooting Tuesday near Poplar and Elm. Wichitas newly launched Raven Gunfire Detection System using a network of acoustic sensors alerted officers to gunfire around 1:30 a.m., guiding them directly to a location behind a residence where they found the victim. Details about the events leading up to the shooting have not been released, and no suspects have been named. The homicide remains under investigation.
