✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Fort Morgan, ColoradoHigh Plains Firearms Academy in Fort Morgan, Colorado, conducted its August 10 Vehicle Defense Tactics course, providing students with the skills to respond to threats while inside or near a vehicle. Recognizing that many self-defense encounters can occur in or around cars, the instructors designed the course to address unique challenges such as restricted movement, confined space, and ballistic limitations of vehicle materials. Students began with classroom instruction covering situational awareness during travel, preemptive positioning, and understanding the ballistic properties of glass, doors, and other automotive components. The live-fire portion incorporated shooting through windshields, engaging targets from the driver and passenger seats, and quickly exiting a vehicle to seek cover. The training also covered strategies for handling armed carjacking attempts, road-rage confrontations, and ambush scenarios. Safety protocols were heavily enforced, with each drill supervised closely to ensure correct muzzle discipline and safe weapon handling in the vehicle environment.
