Authorities say the incident unfolded just after 4:30 a.m. when the suspect allegedly forced entry into the home in the 200 block of East 46th Street North. According to police, the homeowner, who was armed, encountered the intruder in a hallway. Investigators report that the suspect ignored commands to leave and instead advanced toward the resident while brandishing a firearm. The homeowner fired multiple shots, striking the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives recovered a handgun from the suspect and confirmed there were no other individuals inside the residence at the time. The homeowner is cooperating fully with the investigation, and no arrests have been made.
