Tulsa police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning when a homeowner confronted an armed intruder inside his residence. Authorities say the incident unfolded just after 4:30 a.m. when the suspect allegedly forced entry into the home in the 200 block of East 46th Street North. According to police, the homeowner, who was armed, encountered the intruder in a hallway. Investigators report that the suspect ignored commands to leave and instead advanced toward the resident while brandishing a firearm. The homeowner fired multiple shots, striking the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives recovered a handgun from the suspect and confirmed there were no other individuals inside the residence at the time. The homeowner is cooperating fully with the investigation, and no arrests have been made. Police said the case will be reviewed by the Tulsa County District Attorneys Office to determine if any charges are warranted, though such cases are typically reviewed under Oklahomas self-defense statutes. Neighbors described the area as generally quiet but noted a recent uptick in property crimes. Several residents expressed support for the homeowners actions, citing the need to protect oneself and ones family when faced with an imminent threat.
