Homeowner Exchanges Gunfire with Multiple Suspects During Attempted Robbery in North Harris County

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 9:30 PM local time at a home on the 19800 block of Kenswick Drive. The resident told deputies he was inside when he heard a loud disturbance at his front door. He armed himself before investigating the noise and was confronted by multiple suspects attempting to force entry. At least one of the intruders was reportedly armed with a firearm. The homeowner engaged the suspects, and an exchange of gunfire ensued. The suspects abandoned their attempt to enter the home and fled the scene in a vehicle. Deputies arrived to find the resident unharmed, though the doorway of the home sustained damage during the incident. As of early Sunday morning, no suspects have been apprehended, and it is unknown if any of the fleeing individuals were struck by the homeowner's return fire. HCSO investigators are currently processing the scene for evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses and surveillance footage that may help identify the suspects or their getaway vehicle.
