✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Washington, D.C.A July 9 memorandum from Department of Homeland Security Deputy Director Madison D. Sheahan directs all Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorized officers to discontinue carrying Sig Sauer P320 variants and transition to Glock 19 MOS pistols outfitted with Trijicon RMR HD optics. The move follows an internal risk review and recent FBI ballistic-research findings highlighting uncommanded-discharge allegations against certain P320 configurationsissues Sig Sauer disputes. ICE armorers will begin a phased replacement program this month, drawing firearms and RMRs from existing DHS procurement contracts; duty holsters will shift to Safariland 6390RDS models. Agents must complete a two-day red-dot transition course focused on optic zeroing, pistol-mounted optics failure drills, and new annual qualification standards emphasizing rapid dot acquisition and reduced parallax at 725 yards. Officers may retain privately owned P320s only off duty and after removing any agency markings.
