The Canyon County Sheriff's Office in Idaho has announced a new initiative offering free concealed carry weapons (CCW) safety classes to residents. The program aims to promote responsible firearm handling and legal awareness for both new and experienced permit holders. Classes will cover safe storage, de-escalation tactics, Idaho gun laws, and the ethical responsibilities of carrying a firearm. Sheriff Kieran Donahue emphasized that the program is designed to reduce negligent discharges and misuse by ensuring that permit holders are fully educated on best practices. Sessions will be held monthly at the sheriffs training facility, with registration available online.
