The bronze medal was clinched by Olympic champion Sheng Lihao of China. Babuta's journey in the finals began strong, with his opening shots scoring 10.6 and 10.5, but a critical low shot of 9.7 in the 11th round contributed to his drop in the standings, leading to his elimination as the second shooter. Notably, in the mens 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event, fellow countryman Anish Bhanwala achieved a remarkable score of 29111x, placing him seventh at the end of Stage 1 of the qualification round. His teammates Sameer Gulia and Adarsh Singh werent far behind, with scores of 2863x and 2858x, respectively. The second stage of qualifications is expected to be held tomorrow, followed by finals where the top six shooters from this stage will advance. Ravinder Singh made headlines by winning gold in the mens 50m pistol event, setting an enthusiastic tone for the Indian squad. Additionally, two-time Olympian and Asian champion Elavenil Valarivan secured bronze in the womens 10m air rifle final, marking her first individual worlds medal. Singh topped the mens free pistol with a score of 569, outshining 47 competitors and, alongside teammates Kamaljeet (540, 20th) and Yogesh Kumar (537, 24th), contributed to a team silver in that event. Valarivan shone brightly in her category as well, scoring an impressive 633.4 in the women's 10m air rifle qualification, securing a spot in the finals. Her dynamic performance included a nail-biting final that was ultimately won by reigning Olympic champion Ban Hyojin of Korea, who dethroned Chinas Han Jiayu to claim gold.
