A disturbing arrest report reveals that Jacob Lister, 29, the Las Vegas man accused of fatally shooting his mother and critically injuring his sister, harbored "paranoid ideations" before the violent incident. Las Vegas police arrested Lister on charges of open murder and attempted murder following the tragic confrontation at a southwest Las Vegas valley home. The chilling details emerged from a 911 call received on Sunday, July 27, around 5:30 p.m., when a woman reported that her husbands former coworker, identified as Lister, had called for help, confessing to shooting his mother and sister. Upon arrival at Lister's residence, officers discovered his mother, Deborah Lister, and his sister suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. Deborah Lister was pronounced dead at the scene, while her sister was rushed to a local hospital, where her prognosis remains grim with minimal brain function. Authorities located Jacob Lister and his former co-worker inside Lister's truck at the intersection of Blue Diamond and Buffalo Drive, where he was taken into custody. During the interview, Lister repeatedly expressed "paranoid ideations," claiming his phone was bugged and that he was being targeted by the government, police, and the IRS. Lister also disclosed a history of alleged sexual abuse by family members, which he recently began to recall. He stated that he woke up on Sunday, pacing the house as memories of the abuse resurfaced. When his mother and sister returned home around 4 p.m. that day, Lister confronted his sister with a handgun, seeking "answers." He claimed the gun was given to him by a family member to kill another family member who he alleged had raped him. The situation tragically escalated when Deborah Lister attempted to disarm her son, leading to her fatal shooting. Lister then shot his sister, and subsequently shot both of them again in the head before placing the gun on the kitchen counter and contacting his former co-worker. Lister denied any mental illness diagnosis or recent drug use other than marijuana, and also claimed to have AIDS as a result of the abuse, though never formally diagnosed.
