✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍St. Louis, MOMark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who became nationally known for brandishing firearms at protesters in 2020, have had their AR-15 returned after their convictions were expunged. The couples legal battle spanned 1,847 days, three lawsuits, and two appeals court trips. The Eastern District Missouri Court of Appeals dismissed claims that they posed a threat to public safety, clearing the way for the firearms return. In the original incident, demonstrators entered the McCloskeys private street during protests after George Floyds death. Mark McCloskey displayed an AR-15-style rifle, while Patricia held a semi-automatic pistol. In 2021, Mark pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fourth-degree assault, and Patricia to harassment, with both surrendering their firearms as part of the plea. They were later pardoned by then-Governor Mike Parson. The couple celebrated the return of their rifle on social media, framing it as a victory for their right to defend their property.
