NEWINGTON, NH SIG SAUER Inc. announced today, July 29, 2025, that the Michigan State Police has fully transitioned its agency to the SIG SAUER P320/M18 pistol as its issued primary handgun system, complemented by the SIG SAUER P365 as the secondary firearm. This comprehensive upgrade includes the integration of the SIG ROMEO-M17 optic and FOXTROT2R light for the primary duty pistol, providing Michigan State Police troopers with a cutting-edge and battle-proven firearm system. The M18, a variant of the P320, was notably selected by the U.S. Army as part of its Modular Handgun System Program and is also fielded by the United States Marine Corps, underscoring its reliability and performance in demanding environments. The ROMEO-M17 red dot optic has undergone rigorous military testing and possesses an assigned National Stock Number (NSN), confirming its readiness for professional end-users. For concealed carry or backup, the P365 was chosen for its ergonomic design, which retains the feel and effectiveness of a full-sized pistol in a highly concealable package.
