(KOLO) - The Mono County Sheriffs Office showcased its sharpshooting prowess by securing 1st place in the team competition at the Annual Pigs and Pistols Tournament held on November 7. This thrilling event gathered active and retired peace officers from various agencies, including the Inyo Sheriffs Office, Bishop Police Department, California Highway Patrol Bishop, Inyo District Attorneys Office, and Bureau of Land Management, to engage in some friendly competition and camaraderie. The spotlight was on the three representational deputies from the Mono County Sheriffs Office: Deputy Guntert, Deputy Hughes, and Correctional Deputy Gottfried. Their teamwork and stellar performance not only earned them the top spot but also fostered a sense of community among law enforcement participants. We are proud to share that the Mono County Sheriffs Office took home 1st place this year in the team competition! the Sheriffs Office stated in a post announcing their victory. In addition to the team achievements, individual accolades were awarded as well. Deputy Custer emerged as the top shooter of the tournament, clinching the 1st place ranking among individuals. Deputy Hughes and Deputy Guntert also received recognition, finishing in 2nd and 4th place, respectively, demonstrating a collective display of skill and precision that marked Mono County Sheriff's dominance in this years tournament.
