MTAC Muncie has been a focal point for advanced firearms instructor development, with two key programs running through the weekend and into the current week. From July 11 to July 13, 2025, the 'RDS Instructor - Sage Dynamics' course was conducted, designed to provide trainers with an in-depth understanding of Miniature Red Dot Sight (MRDS) operations and the scientific principles behind their effective use. This course focused on curriculum development for MRDS introduction training, emphasizing optic science, selection, and application of firearm fundamentals to MRDS platforms. A significant portion of the training involved stress inoculation techniques, crucial for real-world application. Prerequisites for this course include an instructor position for law enforcement/agency/unit personnel, with non-LE students in open enrollment courses potentially requiring proof of instructor liability insurance. Concurrently, from July 14 to July 18, 2025, MTAC is hosting 'CQB Instructor Development 1,' the first in a series of courses dedicated to the fundamentals and principles of Close Quarters Battle. This program, primarily for LE/GOV/MIL personnel, focuses on the foundational building blocks of CQB, specifically the actions of a 4-man assault team clearing multi-room, single-story structures. It also covers the administrative knowledge required for safely executing CQB training.
