ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. Rowan County law enforcement is actively searching for a burglary suspect who may be injured after a homeowner fired a shot during a residential break-in. Deputies were called to the 400 block of Crawford Road on Tuesday night to a report of a breaking and entering. The homeowner, who remains anonymous for their safety, told law enforcement that they saw an individual coming out of their house. The suspect fled into the woods before deputies arrived. The homeowner stated that they discharged a single shot at the suspect as they were fleeing, and authorities believe the suspect may have been injured as a result. The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a scruffy beard, last seen wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans. Police have stated there is no immediate danger to the public, but residents are urged to be vigilant and report any sightings of an individual matching the suspects description. The investigation is active and ongoing, with law enforcement continuing their search for the individual.
