Phoenix police are investigating an August 8 incident in which an armed citizen intervened during an attempted robbery outside a convenience store, fatally shooting the suspect. According to authorities, the suspect approached a man in the parking lot, brandishing a handgun and demanding money. The victim, who possessed a valid Arizona concealed carry permit, drew his own firearm and fired multiple shots, striking the assailant. Emergency medical services pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. Police recovered both firearms and confirmed that the armed citizen remained on-site and fully cooperated with investigators.
