✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Mesa, ArizonaRed Mountain Tactical, located in Mesa, Arizona, hosted its August 10 Low-Light Pistol Training session, giving participants a practical look at defensive handgun use when visibility is compromised. The course was aimed at both concealed carriers and home defenders who recognize that many real-world encounters occur in low or no-light environments. The class began with a review of safe firearm handling in darkness, including managing muzzle direction while using handheld or weapon-mounted lights. Students practiced one-handed shooting techniques with flashlights, as well as two-handed methods that balance control and illumination. The live-fire portion focused on target identification, accuracy under reduced visibility, and managing light discipline to avoid giving away ones position. Instructors also addressed how environmental factorssuch as streetlights, shadows, and reflective surfacescan affect visibility and tactics. Realistic scenarios simulated defensive encounters in dim parking lots, residential hallways, and other common low-light settings.
