Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has announced a significant investment in Thomasville, with Rideout Arsenal, a firearms manufacturer, committing $22 million to build a new facility. This development is projected to create 120 jobs over the coming years. The new plant will be situated within the Plantation Oak Industrial Park, which is expected to expand further in the future. Governor Kemp highlighted the favorable business environment in Georgia, stating the state's pro-business approach, skilled workforce, and dedication to constitutional freedoms make it an attractive location for manufacturers.
Travis and Kelsey Rideout, the founders of Rideout Arsenal, indicated that the decision to relocate was influenced by recent anti-gun legislation in Virginia, leading them to seek a more stable environment. They emphasized their commitment to producing innovative firearms in the U.S. while utilizing a domestic supply chain. This shift is a response to the uncertainty created by legislative actions in Virginia, which prompted them to explore opportunities in Georgia. The founders expressed enthusiasm about establishing jobs and investing in Thomas County, citing the welcome they have already received from the community.
Currently, Rideout Arsenal is actively recruiting for a range of positions, including production, engineering, administration, and management roles. Interested candidates are encouraged to reach out for more information.
