ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. Deputies in Rowan County are searching for a burglary suspect believed to be injured after a homeowner fired a single shot during a break-in Tuesday evening. Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:23 p.m. on Crawford Road, where a caller reported seeing an unknown man exiting his home. The suspect, described as a white male in his 30s with scruffy facial hair, wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans, fled into nearby woods toward Long Ferry Road before deputies arrived. Investigators believe he may have been struck or otherwise injured when the homeowner discharged his firearm. Despite a large police presence in the area, the suspect remains at large. Residents have been urged to remain alert and call 911 if they spot anyone matching the description.
