San Diego Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Armed Man During Traffic Stop

SAN DIEGO, Calif. A San Diego County Sheriffs deputy shot and wounded a man during a traffic stop late Wednesday night in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley. According to SDSO, the deputy approached the vehicle for a routine violation when the driver allegedly reached for a handgun on the passenger seat. The deputy fired, striking the man in the torso. The suspect was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital and is expected to survive. The deputy was not injured.
