📅
✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Swansea, SCThe South Carolina Wildlife Federation (SCWF) is hosting a Sporting Clays Competition on October 17, 2025, at the Palmetto Outdoors Shooting Facility in Swansea, S.C. This annual event invites shooters from across South Carolina to compete in a challenging sporting clays competition, with proceeds supporting wildlife conservation and habitat restoration in the state. The competition is open to both individual shooters and teams, with a registration fee of $125 for individuals and $500 for a four-person team. Each participant will have the chance to shoot at 100 targets, with a golf cart provided to each team. In addition to the shooting competition, the event will feature a BBQ lunch provided by Palmetto Pig, and raffle prizes. These prizes include shooting-related gear and memorabilia, generously donated by local businesses that support the SCWFs mission. The SCWF has been a leader in conservation efforts in South Carolina for decades, and the sporting clays competition has become a tradition for local shooting enthusiasts who also value conservation. This event brings together hunters, sport shooters, and conservationists to engage in friendly competition while raising crucial funds for SCWFs habitat enhancement projects. These projects focus on protecting South Carolinas unique wildlife and their habitats, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same outdoor experiences. The state of South Carolina, while experiencing rapid growth, has seen an alarming increase in the loss of biodiversity. As the population grows, so does the demand for land and resources, leading to habitat destruction and a sharp increase in imperiled species. The SCWFs mission is more critical than ever. Since its founding in 1931, the SCWF has been dedicated to conserving and restoring natural habitats, promoting land conservation, and offering educational programs that teach the public about responsible outdoor stewardship. All the funds raised from this event will go directly to these ongoing efforts. Participants in the event will not only enjoy a day of competitive shooting, but they will also be supporting a worthy cause. SCWF is urging people to come out, take part in the competition, and learn more about the organizations impact in the community. This fundraiser is a reminder that sportsmanship and conservation go hand-in-hand, providing a unique opportunity to combine the love for shooting with the need to protect the natural landscapes. The event will start at 9:00 AM with registration, followed by the competition itself. At 12:30 PM, participants will gather for a BBQ lunch, where they can relax, network, and participate in a raffle with great prizes. The awards ceremony will take place at 1:00 PM to honor the top shooters of the day. This time will also serve as an opportunity to thank all those who have supported the cause, from the shooters to the sponsors. Sara Green, SCWFs Executive Director, emphasized the significance of the event in a rapidly developing state. "Funds raised will stay right here in South Carolina to protect the habitats and wildlife that make our state unique," she stated. With South Carolinas growing population and the rapid development placing increased pressure on natural ecosystems, this event aims to protect the states valuable wildlife. In a state where outdoor activities are a significant part of the cultural identity, the SCWF is helping ensure that the traditions of hunting, fishing, and shooting are carried on responsibly. By hosting events like this, SCWF is also building a community of environmentally conscious individuals who are passionate about protecting their state's wildlife for future generations. For shooters, it's a chance to enjoy their sport, make a difference, and give back to the land that provides them with so much.
