The 13th Annual Shootout Hunger Sporting Clays Tournament, hosted by the Montgomery County Food Bank on September 12, 2025, at Blackwood Sporting Co. in Conroe, Texas, marked a significant milestone in the fight against hunger in the community. The event brought together more than 180 shooters, community leaders, and generous sponsors, all united in the shared mission to raise funds for the Montgomery County Food Bank. Thanks to their efforts, the tournament raised enough to provide over 670,000 meals for children, families, seniors, and veterans facing food insecurity. Each dollar raised through the event contributed directly to the Food Banks ability to stretch its purchasing power, ultimately ensuring that every dollar raised provided four meals. The tournament participants not only showcased their shooting skills in a competitive but friendly environment, but they also made a tangible difference in their community, helping to ensure that their neighbors have access to vital food resources. The success of the event was made possible by the support of several major sponsors, including Cowboy Kia, H-E-B, and Expand Energy, whose generosity helped cover the costs of the event and ensure that all funds raised went directly to those in need. Additionally, Montgomery County Food Banks President & CEO, Kristine Marlow, expressed immense gratitude during the event, thanking the participants and sponsors for their support and dedication to the cause. Shootout Hunger shows the heart of Montgomery County at its best a community coming together for friendly competition, excitement, and a shared purpose of compassion, strength, and hope, she said. The tournament featured a lively atmosphere, with participants enjoying more than just the competition. Attendees had the opportunity to bid on silent auction items, enjoy breakfast and lunch, and take advantage of complimentary gun cleaning services provided by local vendors. The event also included a BBQ lunch prepared by County Precinct 1 Commissioner Robert Walkers team, a local favorite that has become a tradition at the tournament. One of the highlights of the day was the spirit of community and camaraderie that permeated the entire event.
