On August3,2025, DeAndre Soulja Boy Way was arrested by LAPD in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles around 2:30 a.m. during a routine traffic stop. Officers discovered a firearm in the vehicle where Way was a passenger. He is suspected of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and remains booked into the Wilshire Division jail. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the traffic violation that led to the stop. The artists representative has declined comment. This incident echoes previous firearm-related legal issues; in 2014 and earlier, Way was arrested during traffic stops involving guns and narcotics. The case comes just days after a civil ruling ordering him to pay damages in an assault case.
