On August 11, a Texas womens shooting league announced its expansion to new chapters across the state, marking a milestone in its mission to empower women through firearms education and competition. Founded in Austin, the league now includes members from Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and several rural communities. The program offers structured training sessions, safety workshops, and access to local matches in disciplines such as IDPA, USPSA, and steel challenge. Organizers say the league has been particularly effective in providing a comfortable, supportive environment for women who might otherwise be hesitant to enter the shooting sports. The expansion announcement was made during a celebratory match in San Antonio, which drew nearly 100 participants. League leaders cited the rising interest in self-defense training and the growing representation of women in competitive shooting as key drivers of their growth.
