On May 17, 2026, a traffic stop on Wilkesboro Highway in Iredell County led to the arrest of Jiceri Sankwan Tucker, a 29-year-old man from Statesville, for possession of a stolen firearm and cocaine. As part of the stop, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Souther discovered Tucker had a suspended driver’s license, prompting further investigation. The presence of narcotics was confirmed when K9 officer Elio alerted deputies, leading to a search of Tucker’s vehicle. During this search, detectives found cocaine concealed in a cigarette pack along with a stolen Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm handgun. The firearm was confirmed to have been reported stolen in a prior case in Iredell County.
Tucker, having a previous felony conviction from 2023, was charged for several offenses, including felony possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of cocaine, and driving with a revoked license. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and is being held without bond due to being out on bond at the time of his latest arrest.
