In a significant operation, troops from the 3 Division and the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, executed a raid in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, recovering a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. This operation followed credible intelligence that identified a network of bandits stockpiling weapons in the area, highlighting the persistent threat presented by illegal arms proliferation in Nigeria. The operation took place in Rawaya Village, near Kazok, where the suspect managed to evade capture before the troops arrived. However, the swift and comprehensive search of the location led to a significant haul including two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, one revolver pistol, four AK-47 magazines, three G3 magazines, and a staggering 1,198 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, along with four rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition and various mobile phones. Major Zhakom emphasized that these weapons are now secured in military custody for further investigation, as the military works tirelessly to apprehend the fleeing suspect and his associates.
