TRU receives FAA Certification for Veris VR Simulator
TRU Simulation’s Veris VR Simulator revolutionizes flight training with FAA certification
📅
✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍N/ATRU Simulation recently received FAA certification for its Veris Virtual Reality (VR) flight simulator, marking a major milestone in the evolution of flight training technology. The Veris simulator, a Level 7 Flight Training Device (FTD), integrates cutting-edge virtual reality with the benefits of traditional flight simulators. This innovative system significantly reduces the cost and space requirements typically associated with full-motion flight simulators, making high-quality pilot training more accessible and scalable. Designed as a clean-sheet platform, the Veris VR Simulator blends immersive virtual reality with the features of Full Flight Simulators (FFS), providing a versatile, high-performance training tool for the aviation industry. The systems compact, lightweight design makes it a perfect fit for a range of flight training scenarios across business aviation, rotorcraft, and military markets. We have built the Veris to meet the growing demand for an efficient, cost-effective, and immersive training tool, said Jerry Messaris, vice president and general manager at TRU Simulation. It delivers unparalleled realism, providing pilots with a high-quality training experience in a fraction of the space required by traditional simulators. One of the key advantages of the Veris simulator is its ability to offer the same level of training as a full-motion simulator without the massive infrastructure costs. With the Veris system, pilot training providers can now offer comprehensive instruction at a significantly lower price point, making advanced training accessible to more aviation professionals. Bell Training Academy (BTA) is the first customer to adopt the Veris simulator, with the Bell 505 helicopter being the initial aircraft used for training. Bells decision to integrate the Veris VR simulator into its training operations demonstrates the increasing integration of VR technology in aviation training. The system will be part of BTAs efforts to support the U.S. Armys Flight School Next program, which aims to provide advanced training for military pilots. We are honored to be the launch customer for the Veris VR Simulator, said Chad Sparks, General Manager of Bell Training Academy. The Veris will enhance the realism and effectiveness of our Bell 505 training program. With the support of TRU Simulation, we look forward to providing cutting-edge, immersive training for our customers while also contributing to the success of the U.S. Armys Flight School Next program. The FAA certification represents a significant achievement for TRU Simulation, affirming the systems capabilities and setting the stage for wider adoption across flight schools and military institutions. The Veris VR simulator is expected to set new standards for pilot training by offering the flexibility to train across various flight environments, all while maintaining the highest level of realism and cost efficiency. In addition to its groundbreaking certification, TRU Simulation has continued to expand its product offerings. The company recently signed an agreement with Coptersafety to deliver a second AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator to their Helsinki International Airport facility. This new simulator will offer a wide range of advanced mission features, including high-fidelity visual systems, realistic flight dynamics, and avionics tailored to the specific needs of Coptersafetys customers.
