BURLINGTON, Vermont (VT Digger) The Vermont Military Academy announced Thursday its inaugural Veterans Tactical Challenge, a twoday competition designed exclusively for former service members. Scheduled for September2021 at the Green Mountain Training Grounds, the course features combined arms scenarios including precision rifle stages, landnavigation checkpoints, casualtyevacuation exercises, and nonlethal decisionmaking drills. Colonel James Fletcher (Ret.) emphasized the camaraderie and skillrefresh aspects: This event gives veterans a chance to harness their expertise in a supportive, competitive environment, while also benefitting from advanced safetyoversight protocols. The academy partnered with the Vermont National Guard and the Vermont Department of Health to integrate livemedical injection stations, where competitors practice lifesaving interventions under timed conditions.
