✍️By ZRIntel Editorial Team📍Hilo, HawaiiFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 26, 2025 Veterans Invited to PACT Act Community Call Outreach Event in Hilo Hilo, Hawaii The U.S. Department of VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) is pleased to announce the upcoming PACT Act Community Call Outreach Event, to be held at the Arc of Hilo, located at 1099 Waianuenue Ave, Hilo, HI 96720-2019. This important event will take place on October 22, 2025, and promises a day full of valuable services and opportunities for our Veterans. Starting at 10 AM, Veterans will have access to a variety of essential services, including health care enrollments, the issuance of new VA ID cards, and walk-in flu vaccines. These services are designed to ensure our Veterans receive the care and support they deserve, which is especially vital as they navigate the complexities surrounding health care. This event serves as a unique opportunity for Veterans to connect directly with representatives from both the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). Attendees will not only learn more about the benefits available to them but also explore the wide range of services provided through the VA Pacific Islands Healthcare System. It is crucial in building stronger lines of communication between Veterans and the administration that serves them. In addition to these services, a Veterans Town Hall will be held at 5 PM, allowing Veterans the time to share their voices and experiences with our Executive Leadership Team. This forum for dialogue underscores the VAPIHCSs commitment to ensure that Veterans voices are heard and valued in the decision-making processes that affect them significantly. Im committed to listening to our Veterans and using this information to learn how we can better serve those who serve our nation. I hope the Veterans in Hilo can join us for this important event, said VAPIHCS Interim Medical Center Director Thandiwe Nelson-Brooks, emphasizing the administration's dedication to improving care. As we approach the date, the anticipation surrounding the event grows, with many hoping to engage in meaningful conversations that could lead to tangible improvements in the services offered. Notably, the PACT Act signed into law has broadened health care eligibility for Veterans, and events like this help in disseminating this vital information. Facilitating access to health care, especially amidst ongoing nationwide discussions about Veterans' services, shows a proactive approach from the VA. Moreover, it's important to recognize the underlying trends that inform the necessity of such outreach events. There has been a noticeable shift towards making health care more accessible for Veterans, especially those living in remote areas like the Pacific Islands. The engagement of the VA with local communities serves to bridge gaps that may exist due to geographical isolation and ensure that Veterans receive equitable services regardless of their location. Thus, outreach is not merely an event but part of a larger strategy to enhance health care accessibility for veterans across diverse locales. We look forward to welcoming our Veterans to this significant event and providing the support and services necessary for their well-being, ensuring that they are aware of their rights and benefits.
