He enjoys watching bucks congregate around his property, remarking on the aggressive rut behavior this fall. The early activation of the rut is a promising sign for nearby hunters as the Modern Gun Season is set to run from November 8-23. In Michigan's northwest lower peninsula, hunting enthusiasts like Ken Kirsch report continued growth in deer populations during their decades-long annual deer camps.
